Wow! You had absolutely perfect weather to enjoy your day.... I have been there in the dead of winter, and it can seem a very desolate place. Also, I once took my bike on a car ferry to Sugar Island in the middle of the channel just a mile or so to the east of the locks. I rode and explored for hours and it was beautiful. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Did you ride only around the perimeter of the island, or did you tour some of the remote middle areas, too? There are some beautiful old cottages that are away from the usual touristy areas. What a nice place.

We spent abt 2 hrs riding around the island then walked around after that. The weather was fantastic!
